Mace Construct will begin trading under the name Forco after the New Year, the UK contractor has said. The business will keep its current name until then, when it plans to set out a new corporate strategy alongside productivity targets running to 2030.

The contractor described Forco as short, impactful and easy to pronounce. Its decision follows the separation of Mace Construct and Mace Consult into two businesses in March. Under that arrangement, Mace Consult retained the Mace brand, while the construction business is preparing to adopt a new identity.

Mark Reynolds, executive chair, said the construction business had spent 35 years raising standards and helping to move the industry forward. He said the Forco name reflects a commitment to being the UK’s most forward-thinking contractor and its most productive by 2030.

Reynolds also said the culture, values and people that supported the company’s success would remain, despite the change in name and brand. Clients should expect the same teams, the same approach to delivery and the same focus on creating durable places and infrastructure, he added.
