Landscape Forms has relaunched SHUFFLE, a modular smart-pole system that consolidates Wi-Fi, cameras, sensors, two-way communications and EV-charging capabilities into a single vertical structure. According to the company, the system is designed to be easy to activate and install while combining advanced functions in one adaptable pole.

The relaunch responds to public spaces that are adding separate pole-mounted sensors, cameras, lighting and connectivity equipment as available space becomes more constrained. Landscape Forms says municipalities, campuses and commercial developers are seeking ways to expand site functionality without adding visual clutter or additional cost. SHUFFLE is intended to meet that demand by consolidating capabilities rather than requiring a series of single-purpose installations.

Modular configuration

The system’s modular components are designed to allow customization and future adaptability. Its integrated design is also intended to bring modern aesthetics and efficiencies to busy, multi-use environments. Landscape Forms said it has simplified configuration through a new build feature on its website, where clients can specify preferred camera and technology brands and select from a range of options within each category.

“This is the solution site designers have been waiting for,” said Shannon Lee, Business Development Manager for Smart Poles at Schréder. Lee said SHUFFLE was designed to fit the needs of busy public spaces with product and feature sets that can be updated as site requirements evolve. Safety and connectivity are integrated into outdoor spaces without dominating them, she added, making the system accessible and user friendly.

Plug-and-play feature updates

New feature updates include options intended for plug-and-play simplicity. The available modules include:

  • A 360-degree area light
  • A decorative light ring
  • A 180-degree area light
  • Quad-view and 180-degree cameras
  • Motion sensors
  • Loudspeaker and intercom modules

SHUFFLE’s modular design can be configured for specialized environments as well as general public spaces. Landscape Forms lists potential uses including university and business campuses, airports and commuting hubs, shopping malls and tourist areas, concert halls, city parks, sports venues and hospitals. In these settings, the company says the system’s multi-use adaptability and communication features can support security and convenience where people gather to work, travel, study and recreate.

Technology and design

Jordan Agustin, President of Lighting at Landscape Forms, said SHUFFLE represents the kind of thinking the industry needs, with technology and design working together to make outdoor spaces safer and smarter without compromising aesthetics. Agustin said the new features and capabilities integrated into the system’s streamlined design enhance the beauty and functionality of outdoor space while advancing Landscape Forms’ mission of connecting people to the outdoors and to each other.
