Aggreko has launched three Tier 4 Final diesel generators designed for remote Canadian work sites. The units are available in 145 kW, 210 kW and 1,200 kW capacities at 600 V and will be offered exclusively to Canadian contractors. Aggreko says the models are configured to meet and exceed local market needs and requirements.
The generators combine Aggreko technologies intended to deliver reliable, low-emissions power for commercial and industrial applications while meeting Canadian market and regulatory requirements. All three models are CSA and UN31A compliant, according to the company, to satisfy electrical and fuel regulations in Canada.
Onboard 600 V output on the largest model
The 1,200 kW unit includes onboard 600 V capabilities, which Aggreko says eliminates the need for additional step-up transformers. The company states that direct 600 V output can reduce project complexity, improve cost-efficiency and minimize potential points of failure. Aggreko positions this feature as a competitive advantage for large industrial loads where 600 V is frequently required.
Deployment and Canadian fleet
The 145 kW and 210 kW models are canopy units that can be readily deployed for immediate energy needs, while the 1,200 kW model is intended for large industrial loads. The additions expand Aggreko's Canadian fleet, which ranges from 25 kW to 1,200 kW. Through its network of Canadian service centres, Aggreko's energy experts work with customers in data centres, construction, oil and gas, mining, and events to deploy temporary power for a range of applications.
Paul Nascimento, Aggreko's managing director for Canada, said tailoring the company's most advanced generators for Canadian customers reflects the importance of the market. He pointed to large petrochemical and mining industries that need power across vast and remote territories, as well as thriving construction and data centre sectors, and said Canada has clear demand for engineered energy solutions that are powerful and precisely configured. According to Nascimento, the Canadian Tier 4 Final generators pair Aggreko technology with hardware tailored to the specific requirements of operating in Canada.
Emissions, noise and data centre demand
Aggreko says all three Canadian Tier 4 Final generators provide industry-leading fuel efficiency, ultra-low emissions and significantly controlled noise levels, surpassing local requirements. The company also sees the models as well-suited to Canada's expanding data centre industry. As provincial regulators look to limit how much power data centre operators pull from the grid, Aggreko says its Tier 4 Final generators can provide off-grid energy needed to keep data centres operational while aiming to be minimally disruptive to communities.
